Silk Summary:

Some say prices will go up because of the tariffs. Some of these same companies that are now enjoying extra cash have no reason to raise our prices, especially if they were sending products overseas with no tariffs!

It will be interesting to see who raises prices in the near future. If they did business overseas, explanations would have to be forthcoming on prices to Americans that are going up and if they didn’t do business with other countries, then it has to be that components of their business have come from a far and they are being charged tariffs on those parts which get passed down to the consumer.

Either way, in the long run, it will be better for America. The manufacturing sector will be able to make a living, and other areas where tariffs made it too hard for companies to exist will now have a real shot in the marketplace thanks to our reciprocal tariffs. That will level out prices in the end.

When you REALLY think about it, how completely absurd that all these decades, America has been freely sending our goods overseas while we slowly languish or close many industry sectors because we wanted to be good trading partners and not charge tariffs on our allies and other countries. But they didn’t have the same warm and fuzzies about us and we were getting the short end of the stick!

Any country that balks at the tariffs when they were charging us, should be boycotted. They were fine if Americans didn’t earn a fare wage or couldn’t afford what it is they were peddling, but now we want an even playing field they get their ire up shows no respect or concern for us. Isn’t it time we get to play in the game?
