Lawmakers are famous for giving pay raises, money for waste, fraud and abuse in the dead of night or during a holiday. They seem to think no one will see and it can be swept under the rug!
Lawmakers on Capitol Hill make a minimum of $179,000 per year in just salary alone. You add health insurance and other benefits and office money all this for 147 days per year.
Is it any surprise that States like New York, would seem to think, if working for the Federal Government makes you money, why not for the State government as well?
