WASHINGTON POST’S Colbert I King: Israel’s right to exist is irrevocable. An independent Palestinian homeland is a must.
The Palestinian-backed Hamas makes satisfying their demand for a Palestinian State contingent upon Israel’s annihilation thus guaranteeing that goal’s unattainability (i.e., the mantra From the River to the Sea Palestine will be Free).
They then use that manufactured status-quo as a camouflaged vehicle to further validate the continued pursuit of Israel’s demise – their only real goal.
They can’t make a demand contingent upon a solution they won’t permit and still be taken seriously. They might as well be saying, “You can walk across the room as long as you don’t step on the floor.”
Palestinians view the very existence of Israel as “occupation” thus subjecting any resolution to a Catch-22 impossibility. It’s time for the “Two-State Solution” hand-wringers to wake up to this reality.
Too many forget that on Oct 7, Palestinians were on television cheering the carnage:

Always blaming Israel gets as old as the denied masked complicity of large segments of the Palestinian community.
Just as nobody expected the WWII Allied Forces to stop attacking Germany until the Nazis were crushed (despite civilian casualties), so the same latitude must be granted to Israel as they eradicate Hamas.
Also like the WWII German civilian population then, today’s Palestinians are not all the standby innocents they’ve been portrayed to be (though surely, as in all conflicts, there are some innocents).
Finally, Palestinians who die because their bodies are placed around Hamas by Hamas owe their deaths to Hamas, and not to the Israelis pursuing them for their unilateral massacring of young Jewish girls.
No ceasefire until Hamas is exterminated.
