Silk Summary:
Why should Americans in other states pay for the mismanagement of California? For years and years people have been yelling for control burns. There are so many empty green spaces that have underbrush, dead limbs and anyone who drops a cigarette or a match will set the area to blaze. The environmentalist have stopped these burns because they say it’s bad for those around the areas of the burns. Really? Is it worse than having your house burn down or the fact you can’t breathe because everything around you is on fire?
You don’t see these kinds of fires that seem to occur in California frequently around the rest of the country. And a state that has been fiscally mismanaged time and time again, shouldn’t be bailed out by the rest of the taxpayers in other states for policies they had no vote in creating!
If the people like the policies in California that keep in deficits, then the rest of America should not have to bail them out when they continue to show they can’t be responsible enough to keep that State safe from debt.
The figure shows that in addition to the $68 billion budget deficit that has been identified for 2024-25, the state faces annual operating deficits of around $30 billion per year. California has 2 Constitutional Reserves with Formula-Driven Requirements.
