As part of the Green New Deal, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez says would overhaul U.S. energy use, reduce carbon emissions and create new jobs.
“We can put so many people to work. We need to refit so many pipes. We need to re-lay roads. We need to rebuild schools. We need to invent technology that’s never even been invented yet.”
The initial cost of such a misguided law would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $32 Trillion for 10 years. If you are talking about rebuilding schools and roads, then these costs are just a drop in the bucket. We collected about $3.3 Trillion in taxes in 2018, up $14 Billion from the year before, where does the rabid Left think all the other monies would come from to rebuild schools, roads, factories?
While these pie in the sky Liberals learn the basic rudiments of math, it is quite amusing to see them grab any idea from thin air and say, unequivocally, it will work if we throw money at it. They can’t even comprehend that electric cars use fossil fuels. America gets 81% of its total energy from oil, coal, and natural gas, all of which are fossil fuels. We depend on those fuels to heat our homes, run our vehicles, power industry and manufacturing, and provide us with electricity.
Americans who eat copious amounts of meat, would obviously have to eat Genetically Modified Organisms, since cows produce methane gas and that is a big ‘no, no’ for the Green New Deal people.
For those who don’t really know about GMO’s, here is a quick understanding and I along with many other people, don’t want to eat food that someone in a lab manipulates. That’s not real, that is someone’s imagination on what food should be!!! “GMO’s are living organisms whose genetic material has been artificially manipulated in a laboratory through genetic engineering. This creates combinations of plant, animal, bacteria, and virus genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods.”
Most who tout such ludicrous notions, have really no understanding of what this so called Green New Deal would entail or cost and are parroting what someone else said.
Just love it when our politicians say what they will do, but neglect to tackle the problems that are haunting us now!
I don’t see any of these candidates practicing what they preach. Have they donated their government salaries to those less fortunate, or to some organization that will further their cause? Are they all peddling to work on Capitol Hill, with their trusty bicycles? After all, DC is full of bike lanes! Do they all eat GMO food? Do they forgo private jet travel or airplanes in general?
All we see, hear, are mouths flapping a mile a minute, spewing nonsensical ideas that come from, ‘do as I say not as I do’!
