THE HILL’s Juan Williams writes, “There is also no forgetting the racist lie (from Trump) that former President Obama — the nation’s first black president — was illegally elected because he was not born in the United States.”
It’s astonishing how the frequency of a repeated indignation can deliberately obscure other falsehoods – such as the idea that Hillary Clinton’s folks had nothing to do with the story alleging that Obama was born in Kenya.
Fortunately, the former McClatchy Washington Bureau Chief James Asher outed Clinton soldier Sid Blumenthal as the one who began the whole thing:
2 Clinton supporters in ’08 reportedly shared Obama ‘birther’ story

Meanwhile, former McClatchy Washington Bureau Chief James Asher tweeted Friday that Blumenthal had “told me in person” that Obama was born in Kenya.
“During the 2008 Democratic primary, Sid Blumenthal visited the Washington Bureau of McClatchy Co.,” Asher said in an email Friday to McClatchy, noting that he was at the time the investigative editor and in charge of Africa coverage.
“During that meeting, Mr. Blumenthal and I met together in my office and he strongly urged me to investigate the exact place of President Obama’s birth, which he suggested was in Kenya. We assigned a reporter to go to Kenya, and that reporter determined that the allegation was false.”
This happened. It won’t ever go away.
And because there’s a permanent record of it by a universally respected senior journalist from a universally respected (and Left-adored) publication, said record WILL have a naturally corroding influence over the Democrats’ waning moral authority concerning a falsehood-campaign which they actually began.
