WASHINGTON POST’S DAN BALZ:
Personnel is policy, it’s often said. It’s also revealing of character, and on that measure, President Donald Trump continued to show his true colors with a pair of moves this past week. He once promised to appoint “only the best and most serious people” to government. He has made a mockery of that pledge, though perhaps to no one’s surprise.

It would be easier to take seriously Dan Balz’s indignation about “character” if he were not so clumsily giving a pass to his own for that which he never tolerates from others despite those ‘others’ merely possessing policy disagreements while his fellow Democrats are verifiably committing physical crimes!
Violently barrelling into a New Jersey ICE Detention Center while assaulting federal agents, Congressional Democrats LaMonica McIver, Bonnie Watson Coleman and Rob Menendez are set to face criminal charges for their neanderthalic conduct.
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka will likely face similar legal peril for having participated. Dan Balz seems fine with their “character.”
If these Congressional leaders are not found guilty after being caught on video physically attacking federal officers, then look for everyday citizens believing that they too can commit illegal acts with impunity – like maybe assaulting Congressional leaders who got away with violence.
